Admission for MCA 2016

Testdate:17th May, 2016Timings : 9.00 A.M. to 12 Noon

Eligibility :

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

Reservation of Seats:

22.5% (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST) seats in each Programme of Study are reserved for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates respectively. All Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks.
27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer). All OBC category (non creamy layer) candidates are eligible to 10% relaxation in the percentage of marks in the qualifyingexamination in relation to open category*.
*This is subject to the approval of the Academic Council.

Exam Pattern :

The question paper for the entrance examination will consist of multiple choice questions.

Syllabus:

10+2/Graduate level Mathematics and Probability and General Aptitude and reasoning. About 80% questions will be from mathematics and Probability and about 20% questions from General Aptitude and reasoning.

Entrance Exam Fees :

The Entrance Examination fee for candidates belonging to General Category including OBC is Rs. 220/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 430/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 600/- for 3 fields of study. Similarly candidates belonging to SC/ST/ BPL and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) categories are required to pay examination fee at the rate of Rs. 110/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 215/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 300/- for 3 fields of study.

Candidates can apply Online if they have access to a computer, a printer and Internet by logging on to JNU website admissions.jnu.ac.in or www.jnu.ac.in The sites have been designed in a ‘user friendly’ way to help candidates for applying Online in a step-by-step fashion. Online application portal will remain open from 4:00 PM (IST) on 8th February, 2016 till 5:00 PM (IST) on 21th March, 2016.

Candidates can make payment towards Entrance Examiantion fee for Online application only through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking and e. slip(Challan) to the SBI.

You can pay your fee by depositing cash in any of the SBI branch which is CBS enabled and which are given in the List. Visit admissions.jnu.ac.in, select appropriate fee payment link (Application Fee), fill your details and select “Cash Deposit at Bank (E Slip)” as payment mode. Generate and Print E Slip and deposit your fee payment at bank on next working day of E-Slip generation. Payment status will be reflected on website after 48 hours.

Application fee payment can be done online through Internet Banking, State Bank Of India, other banks to start soon. Application fee payment can be done online through Debit or Credit card.

You can pay your Application fee by Demand Draft of any bank. The bank draft should be drawn in favour of JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY payable at New Delhi.
